  • nstitute of Pharmaceutical Analysis is composed of three departments: Pharmaceutical Analysis, Analytical Chemistry and Analysis Laboratory.  There are 3 professors, 2 associate professors and 1 senior technician, and 2 technicians, among whom there is 1 professor of “1000 talents projects” and 5 doctors. 
    There are more than 10 courses offered in the institute, which include Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Experiment of Analytical Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Analysis, Analysis and Application of Modern Instruments, etc. for undergraduate and graduate students. Pharmaceutical Analysis has been approved to train masters since 1998 and doctors since 2011. The institute enrolls 5-7 masters and 2 doctors per year. Recently, 10 national and provincial science foundations/projects were hosted or participated by the institute of Pharmaceutical Analysis. There are more than 60 papers published in the academic journals.
    The institute is equipped with instruments including high performance liquid chromatographic and headspace-gas chromatographic systems, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and fluorescence spectrophotometer for teaching and research. Analysis Laboratory for testing and teaching was appraised by Shandong Provincial Education Department as “First Level Analysis Laboratory for Teaching” and by Shandong University as “Standardized Teaching Laboratory”, respectively. The course “Pharmaceutical Analysis” was also appraised as “Excellent Course of Shandong University”.
    The research fields include development of new methods and technologies for pharmaceutical analysis, single-cell analysis and single molecule detection, Chinese traditional medicine quality assessment, drug metabolism and so on.
